Seniors at a community center made about 300 Valentines to send to troops overseas. One read:

"Roses are red, violets are blue. You're fighting for us! We're praying for you!"

From Chicago, Fr. John Barkemeyer is an Army chaplain stationed in Kuwait. He visits troops in Iraq. Schools back home raised money to send religious articles, like medals, laminated prayer cards, or rosaries, to the troops. Students also wrote letters of thanks to the troops.
